Anti-inflammatory role of intrinsic cholinergic neurons in the intestine
Dr. Rahman am an investigator in Dr. Allan Goldstein’s lab in the Dept. of Pediatric Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Instructor at Harvard Medical School. I have a longstanding interest in enteric neuronal physiology and am applying optogenetics, electromyography, electrical field stimulation, and intraluminal pressure recording to understand the role of the enteric nervous system in the pathogenesis of intestinal inflammation. I have more than 40 peer-reviewed publications, have received intramural and extramural funding for my research, and have presented numerous abstracts at national and international meetings. I am honored to receive this ANMS Grant to advance my work.
